Kerli was born in Estonia, in Elba, a town of 5000 people and she didn't have much access to western culture.
When Kerli was 14, she won a Baltic American Idol-style talent competition and, after that, she went to Sweden, and demos she cut there caught the attention of A&R staff at Island Def Jam, which led to a trip to NY and a meeting with Chairman Antonio “L.A.” Reid. SO she moved to NY and, after that, to Los Angeles. Talking of her experience in America, she said “Being here has enabled me to grow as a person. People here really do believe they can become whatever they want to become. I’m definitely a dreamer myself, so I relate to that. In my hometown, the things I’m doing now didn't seem possible, but I kept believing. I still have so far to go, but my experience has shown me that we can go after our dreams.”. In 2010, she made two songs to that Alice In Wonderland movie: Tea Party and Strange (ft. Tokio Hotel) <3
(Bubble Goth is how she named her style, with all that scary/beautiful things :B)
