KAYA APPRECIATION POST

Hey guys, how are you?
Last week I finished reading "The Diary of a Young Girl"  and at the moment I'm reading a book about the vikings *u* and I also finished watching No. 6, it's amazing ✯◡✯ now I have to read the novel, I'll look for it tomorrow, after the math test ๏̯̃๏
Whatever, today I'll write about a Japanese VK musician called Kaya. He was born in Tokushima and was the vocalist of the electro/darkwave duo Schwarz Stein. He recently signed with next media communications inc., but originally he was on Mana's record label, Midi:Nette. He's also know because of his female appearance and elegant dresses and he has collaborated with Hora (ex-Schwarz Stein) & Kalm (ex-Velvet Eden).

AN CAFE APPRECIATION POST

Hey guys :) How are you?
On the last post I mentioned Kanon, from An Cafe, and now I'll write about them because I like the band. Actually, it was the first VK band I knew *-*
Antic Cafe (アンティック-珈琲店-, nicknamed An Cafe) is an Oshare Kei* band formed in 2003, but now they describe themselves as "Harajuku dance rock". On September 1, 2009, the band announced that after their live on January 4, 2010, at the Nippon Budokan, they would put the group on a hiatus, however they have stated they won't be disbanding. (why do goods bands stop? ;-;)

The band was formed in May 2003 by Miku (vocal), Bou (guitar) and Kanon (bass). Miku's former band, Revirii, had disbanded two months earlier, and even without a drummer, they started to perform at several events. They were later joined by Teruki after he left his former band, Feathers-Blue.

In 2007, Bou's departure announced the band's first overseas appearance at Project A-Kon. The last performance with Bou was on April 30, 2007 and, after Bou left the band, Takuya replaced Bou as the guitarist and Yu-ki joined An Cafe as a keyboardist. The first single with their new lineup was"Kakusei Heroism" At the end of 2007, An Cafe announced their first overseas tour in 2008 (they went to Europe).

In 2010, An Cafe announced that they will be taking a break from activities. The message on their official homepage says that "after the Budokan show, each member will concentrate on their own activity to be prepared for the band to restart in the future."

Meanwhile, several members are now involved in other projects. Kanon is heading a mobile phone game called Pinky☆Distortion, which was released in July 2010 and he'll be a guest at Otakon 2010 as a panelist and a guest DJ, as well as pairing up with Kanon Wakeshima to form kanonxkanon. Miku is serving as the vocalist for the new visual-kei band, Lc5, which started in June 2010 and Teruki is playing as a support drummer for the band DOG in the parallel world orchestra.

Members
Miku (みく) – Vocals (2003–2010)
Takuya (タクヤ) – Guitar (2007–2010)
Kanon (カノン) – Bass (2003–2010)
Yu-ki (ゆうき Yūki) – Keyboard (2007–2010)
Teruki (輝喜) – Drums (2003–2010)
Former Members
Bou (坊) - Guitar (2003–2007)

*Oshare Kei is a subgenre on VK, with happy lyrics, lots of colors and not so much makeup :B (sorry, I didn't find a good definition '-' but I think it's basically this ^-^)

MOI DIX MOIS APPRECIATION POST

Hey :D
 How are you?
Moi dix Mois is a musical project founded by Japanese musician and fashion designer Mana in 2002 after his previous band,Malice Mizer, paused activities. Their first single, "Dialogue Symphonie", was released in October of the same year.
Moi dix Mois played their first concerts outside Japan in March 2005 in Munich, Germany and Paris, France as part of their "Invite to Immorality Tour". After the tour's final show, Juka left the band. On March 1, 2006, they released the album, Beyond the Gate. This featured a new vocalist named Seth. After that, Kazuno (bass) and Tohru (drums) both left the group. In June 2006, Moi dix Mois headlined the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig, Germany.
A prospective five city tour in the United States was scheduled for July 2006, but cancelled due to the band citing "differences in policies" with the tour organizer; but Mana did make an appearance at the 2006 Anime Expo in Anaheim, CA, and he announced that Moi dix Mois was planning to tour America sometime "within the calendar year" (BTW, the tour didn't materialize in 2006).
On 2007, they released the album, Dixanadu.
On December 27, 2008, Moi dix Mois held the "Dis Inferno Vol.VI ~Last Year Party~", where they played a session gig along with Mana's fellow Malice Mizer guitarist Közi.
They performed at Anime Expo 2009 in LA and July they went on a short 2 gig coupling tour with Közi called "Deep Sanctuary", playing on the 17 in Osaka and the 19 in Tokyo.
At the "V-Rock Festival '09" on October 24, Moi Dix Mois played two new songs, "Dead Scape" and "The Sect", and a new version of "The Prophet".
In July 2010, they went on another tour with Közi, titled "Deep Sanctuary II", this time with Malice Mizer bassist Yu~ki as a special guest at Akasaka Blitz on the 17. This was the first time in 9 years that the 3 Malice Mizer members were on stage together. Moi dix Mois' fifth album, D+Sect, was released on December 15, 2010.
On August 27, 2011, Mana announced that Moi dix Mois will be releasing a compilation album as part of their 10th anniversary celebration. The album will be composed of re-recordings of older songs, from the groups first two albums, by the current line-up. Fans can request which songs are chosen through Mana's blog.

Mana – guitar, keyboards, and programming
Juka – vocals
Kazuno – bass
Tohru – drums

Current lineup:
Mana – guitar, keyboards and programming
Seth – vocals
K – guitar and vocals

HIZAKI GRACE PROJECT APPRECIATION POST

Hello people o/
Today I'll talk about HIZAKI grace project because it's an amazing band <3 and because I already mentioned them here and here.

After leaving Schwardix Marvally in 2004, HIZAKI returned to the music scene in September of the same year with his first solo release, the mini album Maiden Ritual. Three of the five tracks on the CD were instrumental, with Fu-ki(BLOOD) singing on the other two.
In 2005, he released two more mini albums, Dance with Grace and Maiden Ritual ~experiment edition~. Each song onDance with Grace was sung by a different vocalist: Seiji (Brainhacker, ex Amadeus), Masaki (Sulfuric Acid), Yoshi(Refiena) and Shinya (999). Drummers KAI (Sherock) and Mikage (ex Babylon) contributed as support musicians.Maiden Ritual ~experiment edition~ consisted entirely of instrumental versions of songs from Maiden Ritual. The special edition Double Pack, available only via pre-order and limited to 500 copies, contained both mini albums plus a bonus disc with two additional songs, one of which was a new song and the other a previously unreleased instrumental version of a Maiden Ritual song.

Later that year, HIZAKI joined Sulfuric Acid as a guitarist in a move that surprised many fans, given their very different musical style. During his time with the band, they released two singles, a mini album and a full length album.

At the same time, he began to work on another session project and in August 2006 released a single called -unique-, which his new HIZAKI grace project shared with +ISOLATION. It contained four tracks, with each band contributing one song and one instrumental track. Another song appeared on the compilation Graceful Playboys. The vocalist for HIZAKI grace project was Hikaru (Izabel Varosa). After the split of Sulfuric Acid in October 2006, HIZAKI focused again on his solo work.

For HIZAKI grace project's first full length album, Dignity of crest, he recruited Juka (ex Moi dix Mois) on vocals, TERU(Aikaryu) on guitar, Yuu (ex Jakura) on bass and Bikei (ex Babylon) on drums. The album was released in January 2007 and sold out in a matter of weeks, but the following month HIZAKI announced that he and KAMIJO (ex Lareine) would start the band Versailles -Philharmonic Quintet- together, while Juka would begin a solo career. These new activities would take priority over HIZAKI grace project.
HIZAKI grace project went on to release two more CDs, a DVD and occasionally played live concerts, but since December 2008, HIZAKI has been concentrating exclusively on Versailles -Philharmonic Quintet-.

XOVER APPRECIATION POST

Hey guys :B
So, on this post I said something about XOVER, and I started listening to it like there's no tomorrow LOL but I didn't find so much information about it. :(
Basically, XOVER is a duo formed by Shaura and Kouichi (ex-Laputa) in 2009, and marked Shaura's return  to music (after changing his name). They released a mini-album called XGATE in July 22 and an album titled AUREOLA in October 21, but, after releasing a live DVD in November 2009, XOVER disbanded.
Yeah, I took this from wikipedia. u.ú
By the way, they have an official Myspace profile.

VERSAILLES APPRECIATION POST

Hi o/
 Another awesome japanese band <3
Versailles was formed in 2007 by Kamijo (ex-Lareine), Hizaki (ex- Sulfuric Acid) and Jasmine You (ex- Jakura). Then, Teru (ex- Aikaryu) and Yuki (ex-Suar Trip) joined the band, but the concept was created in 2006 by Kamijo and Hizaki. Before that, Hizaki, Teru and Jasmine played together on HIZAKI grace project. Their frst album was "The Revenant Choir", in 2007, ad, after that, "Noble", in 2008, when they did their first appearances on Europe and on the USA.
Versailles' japanese record label announced that they've received a notice of an american musician already using this name, so they asked the fans for ideas and, on september, they changed the name of the band (only on the US) to "Versailles - Philharmonic Quintet-". The first song after that was "Prince".In 2009, they released their major debut single: Ascendead Master. On August 3, it was announced that Jasmine would temporarily suspend all musical activities due to unknown circumstances regarding his health and to recover and, on August 9, it was reported on their official site that Jasmine had died. (I cried a lot when I found out). On January 4, Versailles held the "Jasmine You -Memorial Ceremony-" at Shibuya O-East, where themselves, Kaya and Matenrou Opera performed. Their major debut album entitled, Jubilee, was released on January 20, 2010.They also announced a world tour entitled "Methods of Inheritance", which started on February 28, 2010 in Yokohama. Their support bassist for the tour was Masashi, a member of Cosmo and Közi's live band. They went to Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Mexico, Norway, Russia, Finland, England, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Germany and Hungary. On the last concert, they announced that Masashi officially joined the band as their new bassist, with Jasmine You being cited as an "eternal member".

In January 2011, Versailles started starring in their own TV mini drama called Onegai Kanaete Versailles (おねがいかなえてヴェルサイユ, "Fulfill My Wish Versailles"). The theme song for the show was Versailles' single "Philia", which was released on March 15. Furthermore Versailles went on to release their second major studio album, entitled Holy Grail. At the moment, they're having their second World tour. They already went to Taiwan and China and they're going to Russia, England, Spain, Italy, Austria, Poland, Germany, France, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and Chile.

That's it, I hope you like it ♪

VII SENSE APPRECIATION POST

Hey :3
So I was listening to some songs that I haven't listened to for a loong time (and now I'm like "how the fuck did I spend such a long time without this?" LOL) and I remembered this band ^^

On the beginning ("beginning" means 2002 ^^), Shaura used the stage name "Juka" and was the first singer of Moi Dix Mois (another good band that needs an appreciation post XD). After that, he sang on HIZAKI grace project, Node of Scherzo (a project including the band Versailles and another singer called Kaya). After all that, and his solo career, were over, he began performing live with RayX and Masato. Later, Erina joined them and Shaura and Masato started a project/band/idk called XOVER while the other members continued composing. Meanwhile, KAZ was introduced. On December 28th 2009, they had their pre-debut performance.
Vocal: Shaura
Guitar: erina
Guitar: RayX
Guitar&piano: KAZ
Bass: Masato
Drums: Mikage
