LEICHENWETTER APPRECIATION POST

Hey guys :B
So, yesterday, on the post about NDH I said something about that band called Leichenwetter, and I really liked the fact they use poems on their songs, so I decided to make my last post this weekend about them ^-^
The band was founded in 1996 in Iserlohn,  when guitarist Dawe and singer Numen recorded their first songs. Their aim was to bring back to life the lyrics of dead German poets. With names like Dawe (guitar), Numen (vocals), Cpt. Loft (bass), und RaweN (drums) they released the CD "Nachtwerke" in 1998 and their songs became part of some compilations. In 2001 they released the EP called "Schönheit ist rauh", and another album ("Urworte", 2003), but the official discography starts in the year 2005 when they release "Letzte Worte". In January 2007 the band releases in Europe the follow-up "Klage" with new songs and lyrics of dead poets.

After bassplayer Cpt. Loft leaves the band in 2009 due to personal reasons he is soon replaced by Doc. Bawin.

DIE FANTASTICHEN VIER APPRECIETION POST

Hey :B
So there's another awesome German band that ~someone~ showed me  LOL
Die Fantastischen Vier (The Fantastic Four), also known as Fanta 4, is a German hip hop group from Stuttgart, Germany. The members are Michael Bernd Schmidt alias Smudo, Andreas Rieke alias And.Ypsilon, Thomas Dürr alias Hausmeister (janitor) Thomas D and Michael 'Michi' Beck alias Dee Jot Hausmarke. They were among the first groups to rap in German.Towards the end of the 1980s, Rieke and Schmidt formed the "Terminal Team", Dürr and Beck joined in 1989. Under the new name Die Fantastischen Vier(The Fantastic Four), they made German hip hop, or Deutschen Sprechgesang (German spoken-song) as they called it, popular in Germany. Although there were German hip-hop artists prior to them, it was Die Fantastischen Vier who registered the first chart hit with their 1992 single "Die da?!" from the album 4 Gewinnt, hitting #2 in Germany and #1 in Austria and Switzerland. After traveling to LA in the 1980s, the group realized the lack of connection between the struggles of "the poor Blacks in the U.S. and middle-class Whites in Germany," and made a conscious effort to move away from the typical and cliché American gangster rap (they did it :B), reacting with tongue-in-cheek humor to verbal attacks of alleged German gangsta rappers. In thefollowing albuns, they progressed to a more serious and philosophic style. The band was extremely successful in the 1990s, when they released their hit single Die Da?! (Her?! The One Over There?!) in 1992.Thomas D, Hausmarke and Ypsilon also produced successful solo albums and the four had their own weekly show Die 4. Dimension, named after their third album, which aired on the German pay TV channel Premiere in 1993/1994. the group's 7th album 4:99 was released on their own label (Four Music), with 4 singles from the album following. After the #2 hit "MfG", three singles were released at the same time, a first in German music business and each one of the singles can be associated with one of the rappers. On April 7, 2007, Fornika was released, preceded by the single "Ernten was wir säen", which was released as a download for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock in December 2007 and was recently covered by Oomph!.

That's it, I hope you like it, even if it's not the kind of music I usually write about XD

NEUE DEUTSCHE HÄRTE APPRECIATION POST

Hey again ^-^
So, this post is not (I think "isn't" sounds terrible D:) about a band, is about a musical style. I usually don't even know much about this because I don't like to label things, but since I didn't explained very well on the last post and it sounds like a good chance to know lots of good bands. And because I'd never heard anything about this before XD
As I said on the las post, Neue Deutsche härte is a term invented by the German music press after the release of the debut album Herzeleid (1995) by Rammstein. The style is influenced by industrial metal, German rock, hard rock, groove metal, and alternative metal combining it with elements from electronic music and techno. The lyrics are generally in German, sometimes with Latin words or terms. It uses the basic setup of instruments for metal (electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals), with keyboard, synthesizers and samples. Emphasis is on a demonstration of predominance, by over-pronouncing certain syllables and letters. The vocals are thus dominantly presenting in deep, male, and clean voice, and screaming is also common.

NDH imagery is often violent, and sometimes Satanic or militaristic, the latter is especially common among the more industrial-sounding bands. However, lovelorn lyrics are not uncommon and subject matter can be very diverse.

Some examples of NDH: Eisbrecher ; Oomph! ; Rammstein ; ASP ; Die Apokalyptischen Reiter ; Emigrate (led by Richard Z. Kruspe, the lead guitarist of Rammstein.); In Extremo ; L'Âme Immortelle ; Leichenwetter (They perform the lyrics written by dead German poets by using musical influences of metal and gothic); Megaherz , etc.

(Yes, I found definitions and examples on wikipedia XD)

Some videos:

That's it ^-^
there's lots of possible posts here, and a lot more on the wikipedia page, since I didn't listened to all the bands  there XD
 Bye

In July 2010, they went on another tour with Közi, titled "Deep Sanctuary II", this time with Malice Mizer bassist Yu~ki as a special guest at Akasaka Blitz on the 17. This was the first time in 9 years that the 3 Malice Mizer members were on stage together. Moi dix Mois' fifth album, D+Sect, was released on December 15, 2010.
On August 27, 2011, Mana announced that Moi dix Mois will be releasing a compilation album as part of their 10th anniversary celebration.
