Hello :B
This week I was talking to a friend of mine (who run a blog too. In Portuguese, but she'll make another one with the same stuff in English) and she said someone on Twitter said something like "Oomph! is better than Rammtein" and I've never heard about nothing them before, so I just HAD to listen to them. XD
Oomph is a German band formed in Wolfsburg in 1989 and incorporates many styles of music such as metal, industrial, alternative rock, electronica and gothic. They released their first album on Jor's Machinery label, then releasing their consecutive albums on its sister label Dynamica. They stayed with Jor, until his labels disappeared during the acquisition by Sanctuary Records at around 1996/1997.It was Virgin Schallplatten where OOMPH! finally signed. Between 1998 and 2001 they released three albums on the Virgin label, Unrein in 1998, which would become their debut album on the Media Control Charts peaking at #37 and the Austrian top 40 at #38. Unrein became their debut single.
In 2004, OOMPH! released their first single "Augen Auf!" on a new label, this time on Supersonic Records, part of the Sony BMG group of music companies and it's part of FIFA 2005 soundtrack. In June 2004, Oomph! played Two major European music Festivals. The Dynamo Open Air Festival, in the Netherlands and the Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium. On July 6, 2007 Oomph! would open for Metallica in Vienna, Austria.
OOMPH!'s first DVD was Rohstoff, which contains live footage consisting of 23 songs, most of the videos the band has created, making-of videos, and an exclusive interview. The DVD was released on July 20, 2007.
A new song called "Wach Auf!" appeared in the movie Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.
Oomph! released their 10th album Monster, on August 22, 2008 and opened for Marilyn Manson on June 24, 2009 in Linz, Austria. The band's 11th studio album is slated for 2011. The title is as yet unnanounced. The album is supposed to be highly experimental. (Dero will be rapping for the first time and also singing operatically.)
